Your Gateway to Ham Radio Communication
The Almaden Repeater Club KN6NUA operates and maintains the WA6IBM repeater system, which includes three different repeaters: one on the 2-meter band, one on the 220 MHz band, and one on the 70 cm band. These repeaters can be linked together for weekly nets and emergency communications. Additionally, you can access the repeaters using Echolink under the “WA2IBM-R” node.
Join us for the Almaden Radio Club net every Monday at 7:00 PM. This weekly gathering is an excellent opportunity for members to connect, discuss various topics, and stay updated with club activities. It’s a perfect time to test your equipment, practice your skills, and engage with fellow operators.
Our club operates three key repeaters, each tailored to enhance your communication experience. Below is a detailed overview of the repeaters we offer:
This UHF repeater is ideal for local communication, providing excellent coverage and clarity. The selected CTCSS tone reduces interference from other repeaters, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted transmission.
Operating on the 220 MHz band, this repeater caters to enthusiasts seeking a less crowded frequency range. The offset and CTCSS settings facilitate clear and reliable communication, free from cross-channel interference.
Our repeater on the 70 cm band offers extensive range and robust signal quality, making it a favorite among our members. With specific CTCSS tones, this repeater minimizes interference, ensuring all transmissions are clean and precise.
The Almaden Radio Club emphasizes the importance of utilizing encode/decode functions to mitigate interference from other repeaters. This practice helps maintain the integrity of our communication system and enhances the overall user experience.
